Dishwasher

The Dishwasher performs designated work and cleaning routines for the culinary department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, with established policies and procedures and assuring resident safety.

Responsibilities include:

• Acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA.
• Attending department meetings as required.
• Demonstrating accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certification/licenses, if applicable.
• Completing mandatory training and competencies annually.
• Adhering to all policies and procedures specific to the assigned work account.
• Following cleaning schedules and performing cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assisting in arranging trays, loading food carts, and serving meals.
• Setting up the dining room.
• Washing and storing dishes.
• Sweeping, mopping, and taking out the trash.
• Keeping all areas, inside and outside in dining areas free of debris.
• Following established reporting procedures for all supply and equipment needs.
• Assisting in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Following defined safety codes while performing all duties.
• Following defined Infection Control procedures.
• Understanding the facility's fire and disaster plans; following established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
• Being knowledgeable of Federal, State, and facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the job.
• Performing other department duties or special assignments as directed by the GM or designee.

Required skills include:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
• Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Basic Food Preparation Knowledge.
• Sanitation and Safety Practices, including the use of gloves while handling dishes.
• Thoroughness at handling soiled dishes, serving trays, operating dietary equipment, and cleaning work areas.
• Time Management with the ability to and willingness to work flexible hours.
