Systems Engineer III

Systems Engineer IIIDPP is seeking a Systems Engineer III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. Work location: Onsite in Woodland Hills, CA Duration: 11 months Terms: W2 Contract Work authorization: US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance Position summary:This role may be filled at a Principal or Senior level. The Systems Engineer II will have a strong understanding of requirements development, test case development, and verification and validation of those requirements. The ideal candidate will be proficient with requirements technical baseline management via IBM Rational DOORS, and act as a technical lead and point of contact to the Chief Engineer and customer.Responsibilities:Work with a broad customer base to identify unique requirements, flow the requirements into design documentation, and work with a diverse team to build and test those requirements.Present to customers on the capabilities of current products, performance analyses, design information, and requirements verification methods.Generate, review, and manage multiple requirements sets that cover all aspects of both performance and nonperformance including mechanical interfaces, electrical interfaces, data requirements, environmental requirements, and reliability.Awareness and responsiveness to contract milestones and deliverables.Lead an Agile team to ensure the designs are sufficient to meet the system requirements.Work with various Agile teams to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction scripts.Provide test directions to ensure production tests and troubleshooting tests are executed correctly and resulting data conforms to requirements.Required qualifications – Principal System Engineer III:Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3+ years of engineering experience OR PhD degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 1+ years of engineering experienceExperience with IBM Rational DOORSDemonstrated success with:Technical baseline managementWriting and updating DOORS requirementsDecomposing and deriving requirements based on customer specificationsExperience in System Engineering activities such as:Software requirements developmentRequirements developmentTest Case DevelopmentVerification and Validation, i.e. experience running tests and documenting resultsExcellent written and oral communication skills include:Demonstrated experience presenting to internal and external stakeholdersDemonstrated experience communicating technical information, e.g. requirements updates, test plans, integration test plans, etc.Demonstrated experience supporting test investigations and debugging effortsCollaborating with cross-functional teamsActive DoD Secret clearance required at the time of applicationAbility to work onsite full-time at Woodland Hills, CARequired qualifications – Senior Principal System Engineer III:Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience OR PhD degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 4+ years of engineering experienceExperience with IBM Rational DOORSDemonstrated success with:Technical baseline managementWriting and updating DOORS requirementsDecomposing and deriving requirements based on customer specificationsExperience in System Engineering activities such as:Software requirements developmentRequirements developmentTest Case DevelopmentVerification and Validation, i.e. experience running tests and documenting resultsExcellent written and oral communication skills include:Demonstrated experience presenting to internal and external stakeholdersDemonstrated experience communicating technical information, e.g. requirements updates, test plans, integration test plans, etc...Demonstrated experience supporting test investigations and debugging effortsCollaborating with cross-functional teamsActive DoD Secret clearance required at the time of applicationAbility to work onsite full-time at Woodland Hills, CAPreferred Qualifications:Experience with the following interfaces:MIL-STD-1553Experience with ARINC-429Experience with EthernetExperience working in an Agile engineering teamExperience with JIRASystems Engineering experience on large, complex systemsLab and system integration experienceDemonstrated experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Cameo modeling (or equivalent)Experience with ClearQuest / ClearCaseInterested?
