Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Emergency Department Team!

Job Description:

- Shift: 12H Evening, Night Mids (1 PM starts), Every Other Weekend
- Unit: Emergency Department with 18 Beds
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- Patient Ratios:
- 1 to 4 (1 to 2 for ICU patients)
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner
- Leadership Support: Charge Nurse, Shift Manager & Resource Nurse
- Support Staff:
- ED Techs (EMTs or aides from other units)
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
- Nights: Fri/Sat
- Days: Sat/Sun
- Holiday Requirement: 1 major & 1 minor holiday
- Scrub Color: Navy blue (including jacket & undershirts)
- Patient Care Technology:
- Tele: Phillips
- Vents: Yes
- RT & Pharmacy available 24/7
- Team Environment: Must be very teamwork-oriented
- Patient Volume: Treat 85-115 patients per day (average of 100)
- Common Diagnoses:
- Less pediatric patients
- CDCR (correctional patients)
- No cardiac patients (stabilized & transferred out)
- Floating Policy: Potential floating between facilities with a minimum 2-hour notice
- Orientation: 2 shifts at primary campus & 1 shift at the other campus
- Cancellations: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
