CONTROLLER

General DescriptionThe Controller is responsible for all accounting functions of the Nation, including financial reports, supervising accounting staff, assistance in budget development, maintaining accounting system, review and implementation of internal controls, and other duties as assigned by the Treasurer.QualificationsMinimum education - Bachelor’s degree with Accounting major required. Certified public accountant preferredMinimum ten years accounting and finance experience, preferably in governmental accountingMinimum five years supervisory experienceMust have excellent analytical skillsMust maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the NationRequires a high level of personal integrity and ethicsRequires a high level of problem solving skillsRequires familiarity with grant writing, administration, and compliance with grant regulations Requires familiarity with the concepts of project managementRequires familiarity with the concepts of budget development and compliance with Tribal budgetsRequires familiarity with planning concepts and processes including but not limited to program planningRequires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessionsMust maintain confidentiality at all timesRequires in-depth knowledge of grant accounting and compliance with grant regulations including OMB circularsRequires strong budgetary and planning skillsRequires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly ExcelRequires good interpersonal communication and team work skillsMust be able to pass a criminal background checkMust be able to pass drug/alcohol testingMust have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles #J-18808-Ljbffr
