Operations Manager Trainee – Mesa Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics Mesa Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics is hiring an Operations Manager Trainee. The role focuses on learning and developing skills to independently run a financially viable dental office. Responsibilities Model company culture, values, standards and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework; actively learn how to create an environment that promotes PDS culture and values daily Assessment, hiring and retention of right fit team members through training, supervision, counseling and coaching Assess, investigate, and resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts to develop timely, effective, logical yet creative solutions Execute the PDS Operational Model with consistency to meet office imperatives in partnership with the Owner Dentist Drive year over year revenue and profit growth Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget Show proficiency and adherence to cash management and accounting protocols Be the catalyst in team development of the Perfect Patient Experience Deliver effective leadership, coaching and mentoring to identify and implement opportunities for improvement Maintain open communications with supervisors to build trust-based relationships and address issues early Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor per company policies; address others professionally and respectfully Gain proficiency with people‑related functions such as assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation processes and compensation guidance Ensure compliance with company policies as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies Report weekly to Regional Manager detailing accomplishments, areas for improvement, clear performance goals, and system effectiveness By end of the development program, demonstrate competency in managing both Front Office and Back Office teams, showing leadership and team development capabilities Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols for efficient operations during manager absences Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor that improve team member development outcomes Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Five or more years of related operational management experience Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; mandatory motor vehicle record check at hire Ability to travel to multiple offices per day, reliably and on schedule If no driver’s license, reliable alternate transportation to meet travel requirements Travel may be planned or unplanned and can change without notice Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree Five or more years of experience leading, mentoring and coaching teams Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Results‑oriented: energetic self‑starter, sets realistic goals, meets commitments, prioritizes daily to achieve results Effective team builder: communicates openly, motivator, educator, assesses talent, consistent Patient advocate: flexible, empathetic, passionate, ethical Process‑focused operator: data‑driven, detailed, organized, computer proficient Financial acumen: understands profit drivers, uses metrics to manage, builds financial understanding of staff and clinicians, knows local market drivers and competition Influencer: active listener, builds trust, seeks win/win, tailors coaching, celebrates improvement Knowledge of dental plans, insurance fees, administrative guidelines, reporting systems, business correspondence and profit‑loss statements Proficient in Microsoft Applications, Epic, 1VU, BOX, and standard office equipment Independent judgment: makes timely, accurate decisions with limited or vague information Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment without compromising quality Prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction while contributing to organizational success Read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents; respond to inquiries from patients, vendors, regulators Draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment and make decisions under pressure Interpret and apply policies and procedures Apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Strong sense of personal responsibility, ability to work with others and accept direction Commitment to educational advancement and flexible processes to meet unique needs Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written; temperature controlled, no hazardous substances Low to moderate noise; occasional exposure to irate team members, vendors or patients Requires sitting, standing, walking, keyboard use, reaching, hearing, and speaking Frequently lifts less than 40 pounds;
