Corrections Officer/Certified Detention Deputy

The Broward Sheriff's Office is now offering condensed testing for ALL Certified Deputy Sheriff applicants. Human Resources will schedule and coordinate the selection process within a one-week period to expedite the applicant process. Applicants are responsible for all travel expenses. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR SUBMITTING THE ONLINE APPLICATION: Basic Recruit Certificate. Physical Agility Test Results or Modified Agility Test Results. If ever arrested, submit official court disposition, police report, and written statement for review. Certified "entire" driving history. DD214 Member 4 or Service form (if claiming Veterans' Preference).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age of 18 years. United States Citizen at time of application (F.S.S.943.13(2)). High school diploma or equivalent. An evaluation of foreign high school diploma may be required. Must possess a valid Basic Recruit Certificate for Corrections from the State of Florida Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Training. Basic Recruit Certificate must be submitted with the online application. Must not have been convicted of any felony.
