About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel assignment in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular experience and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The PCU RN will be responsible for monitoring patients with complex, acute, and chronic conditions who require intermediate-level care between ICU and medical-surgical units. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to PCU patients with cardiac and other acute conditions
• Continuously monitor and assess patient status and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergencies

Requirements

• Active New Mexico RN License or Compact RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA)
• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to travel assignments
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
