POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr Manager of Customer Quality in Fort Collins, CO is responsible for driving customer quality, satisfaction and retention using multiple quality processes and tools for a major OEM customer. This role is responsible for verifying and validating customer requirements to the product, resolving factory customer quality issues and driving overall product quality improvements. Responsibilities also include negotiations on business-critical matters by coordinating input with cross-functional teams and driving solutions. At a Sr Manager level, the expectation is to help drive systemic improvement and build organizational infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own the executive quality relationship for strategic OEM customers, driving customer satisfaction, business growth, and quality performance.
• Define and execute global customer quality strategies across design, manufacturing, suppliers, and service organizations.
• Lead customer quality governance, including Voice of Customer, scorecards, CAPA, 8D execution, reliability, DPPM, SPC, and continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle.
• Drive cross-functional resolution of complex quality, reliability, and performance issues across global operations and multiple time zones while balancing customer, operational, and business objectives through the development and execution of strategic actions, scalable processes, and sustainable solutions.
• Influence product development, quality systems, and manufacturing strategies by translating customer requirements into scalable quality and reliability solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Provide executive oversight of customer escalations, ensuring sustainable root cause resolution, risk mitigation, and timely closure of critical issues while driving systemic and systematic changes that improve organizational quality performance and operational excellence.
• Lead customer audits, executive reviews, supplier assessments, product change management activities (PCNs/ECRs), and regulatory/compliance engagements.
• Partner with seior executives to align customer quality strategy, resource allocation, operational priorities, and long-term business objectives.
• Develop organizational capability through process standardization, operational excellence, talent development, succession planning, and leadership of global quality transformation initiatives.
• Build and lead a high-performing global quality culture focused on customer advocacy, proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and end-to-end product lifecycle quality excellence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Location: Fort Collins, CO
• Environment: Mostly standard office environment, sometimes noisy & busy manufacturing areas / labs, and clean-room environment.
• AE is a highly dynamic, technically challenging, and fast-paced workplace.
• May need to travel, up to 10-20% of the time (domestic and/or international).

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of internal and external customers.
• Requires the use of independent judgement, responsible actions and professionalism in all customer dealings.
• Ability to construct cross-functional project teams and complete programs on schedule.
• Ability to balance the requirements of performance, cost, and manufacturability
• Ability to solve complex technical and interpersonal problems

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to successfully manage teams.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with all Microsoft Office products and SAP / Oracle - Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP)
• Understands SPC and responds to associated data, charts and graphs
• Understands test criteria, associated results and opportunities for improvement

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• 5 years of technical leadership experience
• 8-10 years of experience in technical or quality management
• Experienced with working in a fast paced, manufacturing environment
• Experienced in plasma, data center, industrial, and medical industries or working with those customers
• Experienced in working with a global team
• Demonstrated ability to drive change; build structure and repeatable processes

Desirable:

• Experienced with manufacturing quality or product quality or product design management
• Experienced working with field service teams
• Knowledgeable of SPC, Variation Control, and MSA or GR&R techniques
• Knowledgeable of 8D & Root Cause Analysis Metodologies
• Ability to utilize quality / lean tools in analyzing, solving, and discussing problems—e.g. histograms, run charts, control charts, parteto charts, etc.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems and copy exactly requirements

EDUCATION:

Essential:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering / Science

Desirable:

• Advanced Degree in Engineering / Science or MBA

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 to $180,000 per year.
