Role Description The Fiber Optic Splicer role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in the Denver Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for performing fusion splicing on fiber optic cables, installing and terminating fiber in various environments, and ensuring high‑quality connections that meet industry and company standards. Day‑to‑day tasks include reading and interpreting fiber plans and schematics, preparing cables for splicing, using testing equipment to verify signal performance, and documenting work completed for project records. The Fiber Optic Splicer will work closely with field crews and project managers to coordinate installation schedules, troubleshoot issues in the field, and maintain safe work practices in accordance with company safety policies and local regulations. The position may involve working in outdoor and indoor environments, at varying heights or in confined spaces, and requires a commitment to accuracy, reliability, and customer‑focused service. Qualifications Strong working knowledge of fiber optic cables and related Cables, including installation, routing, and termination practices. Hands‑on experience with Cabling and Structured Cabling in commercial, industrial, or data center environments. Basic understanding of Electricity and low‑voltage systems relevant to fiber optic and structured cabling installations. Proficiency in using Hand Tools and fiber‑specific tools such as fusion splicers, cleavers, strippers, and testing equipment. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings related to fiber and structured cabling projects. Commitment to safety standards, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate work with field crews and project managers. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in fiber optics, structured cabling, or telecommunications are preferred.
