General Summary

Performs variety of production centered tasks to complete order fulfilment processes, including duties of packaging products and running postage meters.  Operates cutters, folders, inserters, binders, and other production machinery to complete the final assembly and delivery of printed products.

Specific Tasks:

·         Operate printers, cutters, folders, and inserters to print, assemble and package products.

·         Operate Pitney Bowes postage meter to affix correct postage amounts.

·         Process orders and packages through UPS/FedEx/ShipWorks/Stamps software to properly ship packages.

·         Assemble orders in specified relationship to each other and as per customer specifications.

·         Read and interpret job information to determine suitable production operations to be performed.

·         Maintain regular training and skills to operate bindery equipment in a backup or relief capacity.

·         Adhere to changing postal regulations.

·         Observe equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.

·         Process orders according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.

·         Package product/materials appropriately for parcel delivery using proper mail/shipping methods.

·         Transport product between buildings and to Post Office. Valid driver’s license is requires

·         Work at different departmental workstations as production needs require – be flexible to variation in work routine.

·         Rotate positions and assignments between production departments as needed.

·         Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner – including areas of joint use within company.

·         Adhere to company policies and procedures related to, but not limited to, security and privacy of client and company information, production standards and general safety.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Valid driver’s license is required.

·         Education/Experience

·         High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Ability to demonstrate basic mathematical aptitude – addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, percentages, etc.

·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical/Environmental Demands

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

·         The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk, and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. 

·         The employee is occasionally required to talk and frequently required to hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. 

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical machine parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
