Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel contract at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience, Epic proficiency, and on-call availability.

Job Details

• Operating Room (OR) unit within a 212-bed acute care hospital,
• 12-hour variable shifts covering Sunday through Saturday,
• Shift start times vary: 0630-1900, 0930-2200, or 1030-2300,
• On-call required, estimated at 70-90 hours per 6-week period; on-call blocks include 1900-2300, 2300-0700, and weekend/holiday call from 0700-1900 and 1900-0700,
• Weekend and holiday call required,
• Floating between all facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination,
• Charting via Epic (experience required),
• Free parking available on-site,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted,
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required; 3 years preferred, with experience in a broad range of surgical procedures,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration,
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position,
• Scrubs are provided for OR staff,
• Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates,
• Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility,
• RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred,
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at the manager's discretion
