ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Headquarters & service company of MARCORPSBARRACKS. Responsibilities You will review pre-bid contract specifications for compatibility, assurance method and procedures, and prepare quality assurance plans. You will be responsible for the effective management of the Facilities Maintenance Section budget, ensuring all purchases are made consistent with federal procurement regulations. You will be responsible for the management and coordination of all activities relating to the physical operation, maintenance, and in house repairs and improvements of facilities. You will investigate complaints from customers relative to service, damages, property loss, and other matters which involve the contract You will review and evaluate requests for contact modifications and change orders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performs contract surveillance and quality assurance for maintenance and construction contracts, conducts pre-bid reviews and inspections, manages budgets, serves as primary contractor point of contact and establishes inspection schedules; manages section operations and personnel, oversees major repair programs and in house maintenance, and investigates customer complaints; utilizes Engineering Performance Specifications (EPS) and schematics to evaluate project designs, facility repairs, and contract negotiations Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: 802 Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
