Job Description Summary: The Facility Maintenance Crewleader position is responsible for a team that is called on by all systems and departments for labor support. This position performs supervisory duties such as planning and scheduling day to day assignments as indicated from the Computerized Maintenance Management System . This position may also assist in general facility maintenance repairs and construction as needed. Works under general supervision but is expected to make independent decisions on routine items brought to them by subordinate staff. The Facility Maintenance group oversees all aspects of building maintenance, both interior and exterior of the facilities, by performing daily building maintenance repairs and preventative inspections/maintenance on equipment and emergency repairs. Technicians handle the fabrication of walls, installation of doors and windows, paint selection and preparation, basic plumbing installation and troubleshooting as well as workstation buildouts. Job Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing day to day operations of Facility Maintenance for all NTMWD Systems. Responds to various work orders and special projects as directed by the Facility Maintenance Superintendent. Assistsinmaintainingcorporate buildings and grounds in top condition. Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects. Performs basic facility and/or maintenance repairs. Performs weekly, bi-weekly,monthlyand annual preventative maintenance, repair, and installation in connectionwithroofing, plumbing, HVAC systems and exterior and interior of buildings. Perform inspections and coordinates prep and painting of protective coatings on NTMWD pipelines and appurtenances. Performs basic carpentry repairs,assistsin building interior rooms, walls, and spaces to include doorhanging, sheetrock, tape,compoundingand framing. May coordinate and schedule work with outside contractors as neededand directed. Works overtime when neededin order toprevent disruption of District activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education & Experience: Mustpossessa high school diploma or G.E.D. Two years prior supervisory experience isrequired. TCEQ Water / Wastewater license preferred. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must have extensive paint, carpentry, and plumbing knowledge. Must be able to supervise a small workteam. Must be able to effectively work in minimally supervised and/or unsupervised environments. Must be able to effectively communicate in person, by telephone and/or by email. Must enter all activities into the work system to account to for time. Mayparticipatein performance reviews for staff, may review or approve time for subordinate staff. Must adhere to all safety requirements and remain current on all required safety trainings. Must use prescribed personal protective equipment whenappropriate forthe work environment. Must coach teams about safety requirements and hold them accountable for safety process oversights. Environmental and Physical Working Conditions Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver's license of their resident state. Work conditions vary from indoor to outdoor activities. Outdoor activities may involve exposure to hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and/or noisy conditions. Activities may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, carrying, dragging up to 75 pounds of equipment.
