Occupational Therapist

Job DescriptionInova Fair Oaks is looking to add an Occupational Therapist to join our wonderful team! This is a PRN opportunity, at least two weekend shifts a month, one major and one minor holiday. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.Featured Benefits:Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions – starting on your first day.Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:Documents evaluation results clearly and completely according to department policy.Completes daily progress notes that reflect patients' responses to treatment, actual performance and an assessment as to status, relevant to the treatment plan, and eventual discharge needs and treatment summaries if needed.Completes discharge notes that include a summary of the course of treatment, progress toward goals, discharge needs, recommendations for follow-up and patient and/or family education.Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, care team members, students, supervisors and outside contacts.Provides educational materials and methods appropriate to patients' level of understanding and motivation.Demonstrates essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Performs re-evaluations according to department guidelines – adjusting the treatment plan as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelors of Science, Occupational Therapy.
