Job Description

This Clinical Research Coordinator position supports a liver disease clinical trial at a dedicated research site in Lancaster, CA. The coordinator focuses on patient recruitment and enrollment, ensuring that eligible participants are identified, engaged, and scheduled efficiently. This role works approximately 36 hours per week and requires strong clinical research coordination experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed chart reviews in the electronic medical record (EMR) system to assess potential participants against study eligibility criteria.

  • Pre-screen potential patients based on protocol-specific inclusion and exclusion criteria.

  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for study visits and follow-ups.

  • Provide appointment reminders to patients to support adherence to study visit schedules.

  • Perform community outreach activities to raise awareness of the liver disease clinical trial and support recruitment efforts.

  • Engage in physician outreach to inform healthcare providers about the study and encourage appropriate patient referrals.

  • Support patient recruitment and enrollment processes throughout the clinical trial.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to screening, recruitment, and scheduling activities in the EMR and study records.

  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and HIPAA requirements during all patient interactions and data handling.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience working as a Clinical Research Coordinator.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform chart reviews and apply study eligibility criteria accurately.

  • Hands-on experience with patient pre-screening and recruitment for clinical trials.

  • Training in HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.

  • Training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines for clinical research.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage scheduling, reminders, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail when reviewing charts, entering data, and coordinating study activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting clinical trials, particularly in a specialty area such as liver disease, is beneficial.

  • Experience conducting community and physician outreach to support clinical research recruitment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, community members, and healthcare providers.

  • Comfort working with EMR and other clinical research systems to manage patient information and study-related data.

Work Environment

The role is based at a clinical research site in Lancaster, CA and operates during normal business hours, totaling approximately 36 hours per week. The environment is fast paced and requires consistent attention to detail, especially when working in the EMR system, coordinating multiple patient schedules, and managing recruitment activities. The coordinator works closely with a research team and interacts regularly with patients and healthcare providers in a professional clinical setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Lancaster, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
