This is a systems-focused Supply Chain/Production Planning position within a GMP environment, requiring someone who can bridge planning and production execution, work comfortably in SAP and MES, and respond with organization, precision, and urgency.
Core/essential skill sets required:
The minimum is 5 years of experience, however, this is flexible and depends on the candidates proficiencies' and skills. Example: a candidate can have 2 years of experience but has developed automation for scheduling and planning purposes in a different organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Begin the day with a walkthrough of the production floor.
Review production execution, operating rooms, and issues related to planning and scheduling.
Participate in planning, scheduling, adherence, Supply Chain, and Production meetings.
Review and adjust plans based on information gathered from various functions.
Work in SAP/MES and make necessary system updates, releases, and plan changes.
Follow up with Production toward the end of the day to ensure issues are resolved and operations are aligned.
Serve as a connection point-or "glue"-between Supply Chain/Planning and Production Execution.
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a key role within Production and the successful candidate is expected to know and understand the details and intricacies of the complex manufacturing processes, workflows and details to ensure optimized utilization.
The Production Planner/Scheduler is responsible for organizing, managing, and scheduling workflows to ensure efficient production processes. This role involves coordinating with various departments to meet production goals and regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Plans, schedules and monitors inbound and outbound movement of all materials, intermediates and bulks through the manufacturing facility in coordination with QC, Warehouse, Supply Chain and Production Departments.
- Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials by optimizing work centers and campaign lengths.
- Ensure that the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantities demand and organizational objectives.
- Materials planning and process planning based on Supply Chain Schedules, RCCP, and S&OP outputs, comparing required materials to those available, supporting the change to production plans to address material availability, analyzing the materials schedule and its effects, ensuring alignment with procurement/material supply, optimizing materials and inventory, tracking changes and adjusting material replenishments, managing materials item master data and relationships with local vendors, and escalating material delays and working with procurement to avoid potential risks.
- Inventory management - Apply inventory planning techniques and tools to optimize finished goods, work in process, and raw and pack material inventory models across locations within service level and item availability targets, meeting the objectives of the inventory policy while considering working capital targets.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
Education/Certification/Experience:
- Requires BSc, BA or equivalent in supply chain related fields.
- PMP or equivalent is preferable
- Minimum of 5 year relevant progressive manufacturing experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
- ERP systems , preferably SAP, MES
- Microsoft Office, Power BI
- Proper English grammar and punctuation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Mathematical calculation and measurement practices and methods.
- Establish and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
- Providing excellent customers service with both internal and external customers.
- Leadership and training practices and methods.
- Managing multiple projects, duties and assignments.
- Operating scientific and personal computers.
- Equipment, process rooms and manufacturing area SOPs and GMPs.

Problem Solving:
- Works on assignments that are routine to semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Exercises judgment within specifically defined practices and policies and selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Normally receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.
- May be asked to recommend methods and procedures for problem resolution.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent:
- Standing for extended periods of time at work station or equipment
- Stooping, Kneeling and/or Crouching bending body, spine and/or legs (for non-office)
- Twisting/Reaching turning at waist and extending hands and/or arms in any direction
- Pushing and/or Pulling using upper extremities to exert force
- Repetitive Motions (frequent motions of the wrists, hands and/or fingers)
- Lifting raising from lower to upper and/or moving objects horizontally, up to 50 lbs.
Occasional:
- Sitting for extended periods of time at work station or mobile equipment
- Walking to move short distances quickly and frequently
Visual Acuity:
Close visual acuity to perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection), using measurement devices and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at a distance close to the eyes.
Visual acuity to perform activities such as operating machines (i.e. lathes and drill presses) where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts or moving equipment
- Exposure to low to loud noise levels
- Exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists or gasses (for non-office)
