Front Desk Associate

What You'll Do:
- Welcome guests and visitors with a warm smile and a professional demeanor.
- Determine the reason for guests' visits and assist them accordingly.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, and guest transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Answer all incoming calls promptly and professionally, maintaining a positive attitude while assisting callers.
- Transfer calls to appropriate departments or take and relay messages accurately.
- Enter and update guest registration, billing, room assignments, and cancellations.
- Handle guest requests such as making reservations, booking car services, and recommending local attractions.
- Maintain and control room inventory and availability.
- Possess knowledge of the hotel's credit policies, products, rates, and special programs.
- Distribute guests' mail and packages.
- Complete "bucket checks" during each shift.
- Balance all departments' accounts and complete all required back-up documents.
- Maintain security of guest keys and cash drawer; count and verify cash at the end of each shift.
- Monitor guest accounts and notify a supervisor of any significant changes or suspicious activity.
- Run a detailed shift audit and balance daily work to computer records.
- Resolve guest requests and complaints in cooperation with appropriate departments.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures and communicate guest and employee issues with MODs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
- Perform maintenance duties and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff.
- Open and close the hotel as needed.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist management with additional tasks as requested.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong people skills with a positive, outgoing, and naturally curious personality.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrate proficiency with computers.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations and exercise good judgment under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle obstacles in a professional manner.
- Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality preferred.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
