Purchasing Specialist

Carpenter Company employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain daily communication with department personnel, plant management and vendors. Responsibilities Purchases goods and services, equipment, office supplies, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous items for the plant. Assign general ledger account numbers. Determine tax liability on purchase requisitions. Research inquiries and resolve problems regarding orders, receipts and invoices. Assist Receiving Coordinator with completed packing slips and delivery tickets, providing to accounts payable for processing. Prioritize and review all invoices related to plant purchases. Research projects as requested by the Division Accountant. Work with Accounts Payable Specialist to troubleshoot problems with material receipt or back orders. Prepare purchasing reports as requested by management. Control petty cash. Qualifications High School diploma or GED 1 year prior manufacturing or warehouse experience 1 year prior administrative/coordinator experience Proficient with PC software, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook Strong Math Skills Excellent organizational and communication skills Must work independently and as part of a team Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
