Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant is committed to delivering high-quality patient care by implementing treatment goals and plans established by the Physical Therapist. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety and requires adherence to company policies and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in therapeutic interventions for patients.
• Implement treatment goals and therapeutic programs, including posture training, strengthening exercises, and functional skills training.
• Train patients in locomotion using assistive devices and demonstrate proper techniques for safety.
• Utilize modalities such as whirlpools, therapeutic pools, and ultrasound as directed.
• Monitor patient responses and document progress and treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain a clean treatment area and ensure equipment is functioning and available.
• Educate patients and families on body mechanics and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and participate in team conferences.
• Comply with all clinic policies, safety protocols, and infection control measures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Active and applicable state license for practice.
