Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized cardiovascular perioperative nursing care in a high-volume, fast-paced CVOR unit. Assist with complex open heart and vascular surgeries, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiovascular surgeries.
• Assist during procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, carotid endarterectomies, and ECMO.
• Monitor intraoperative patient status, operate specialized equipment, and maintain sterile techniques.
• Administer medications, assist with anesthesia, and support surgical team members.
• Document procedures, patient responses, and care activities accurately in electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with unit policies, safety protocols, and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active RN license with at least 1 year of perioperative or cardiovascular surgical experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in open heart and vascular surgery procedures.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Exhibit excellent critical thinking, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with patient-focused care.
