This position supports the operational continuity of academic, residential, athletic, dining, and administrative buildings through preventive maintenance, emergency response, inspections, and repair activities while ensuring compliance with applicable plumbing and safety codes.Authority and AccountabilityThis position reports to the Plumbing Supervisor or designated Facilities Operations management staff. This position does not directly supervise employees but may assist in coordinating contractors, vendors, temporary employees, or student workers as assigned. The position is responsible for maintaining University plumbing systems and supporting operational response to campus infrastructure issues and emergencies.Required/Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDExperience performing commercial, institutional, or industrial plumbingWorking knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, drains, water distribution systems, and applicable plumbing codesAbility to troubleshoot and repair plumbing-related equipment and infrastructureAbility to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specificationsValid driver’s license with acceptable driving recordAbility to lift, climb, bend, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding work in varying environmental conditionsAbility to respond to emergency situations and support after-hours operational needs as assignedPreferred QualificationsJourneyman Plumber licenseExperience in higher education, institutional, or large campus environmentsExperience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Experience with natural gas systems, pumps, water heaters, and utility infrastructureOSHA or safety-related certificationsAdditional Job Information:The position is a full-time, non-exempt state role with comprehensive benefits.Priority will be given to applicants who apply by June 4, 2026.
