Position: Medical/Surgical Nurse

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00

Location: Riverton, WY

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Medical/Surgical Nurses to provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients, employing scientific nursing principles. The role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer medications (orally, subcutaneously, or through IV) and accurately record all prescribed treatments.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and report them in accordance with established policy.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and associated care requirements.
• Document patients' medical information and vital signs with precision.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment for patients; interpret and record electronic displays as necessary.
• Initiate corrective action for patients displaying adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including those pre- and post-surgery.
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians, focusing on post-treatment home care needs.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as required.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Respond to life-saving situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
• Utilize effective time management skills to prioritize patient care tasks.
• Record all care information concisely and accurately in a timely manner.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned, depending on the specific assignment setting.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS, BLS & PALS certifications (must be obtained through the American Heart Association).
• Current Wyoming RN license or multistate RN license.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts.
