Underwriter Associate

**About this role:** Wells Fargo is seeking a Underwriting Associate in Consumer Lending for Private Label Credit Cards **In this role, you will:** + Be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving, and underwriting routine individual consumer requests and products with few deviations and within company and industry guidelines + Review credit applications, credit bureau information, collateral valuation, tax returns, financial statements, or other supporting documentation to recommend or approve requests within deaccessioning authority levels by way of automated scoring system or traditional underwriting + Assist with the calculations and preparation of reports for review + Respond to customer inquiries and credit decisions + Ensure credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards + Contact customers and partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions, and explain rationale behind credit decisions + Receive direction from leaders and exercise judgment while developing understanding of the Underwriting procedures + Provide information to team, managers and customers to related inquiries **Required Qualifications:** + 6+ months of underwriting, loan processing, originations, or closing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education **Desired Qualifications:** + Underwriting experience of unsecured loans/product + Banking experience + Knowledge and understanding of outbound calling and assessing customer needs + Strong telephone etiquette skill + Has great attention to details and good decision-making skills + Strong Communication **Job Expectations:** + Work schedule: Sunday through Thursday + Hours: 6:00am - 9:30pm PST + Closed only Christmas Day, Thanksgiving and Easter Sunday **Pay Range** Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
