Tribal Court Advocate Trainee

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY (11 Month Program) Training Opportunity: Tribal Court Advocate Pathway Program (TCAPP) Full Time Salary: Start at $25.00/hr. Requirements: Enrolled SRPMIC Community Members, High School Diploma or GED, associate degree preferred, with college coursework in legal studies or related field. Are you an Enrolled SRPMIC Member interested in studying tribal law and passionate about advocating for others as they navigate the legal system? The Conflict Counsel Office is seeking dependable, organized, and professional candidates for an 11 month training program designed to build core knowledge in tribal law and client-focused legal skills. The Tribal Court Advocate Pathway Program prepares committed SRPMIC Members for the essential responsibility of practicing as advocates in the Salt River Community Court. Candidates should demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and dedication to service. Selected participants must have the ability to commit to 32 hours per week for training during regular business hours. Program Commitment Interested candidates must plan to make the program a priority for the 11 month duration. Selected participants will be required to attend classes, complete assignments, engage in practical training, and meet program guidelines. This program offers a pathway to a rewarding career in service as a Tribal Court Advocate and allows individuals to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Community Members. All selected candidates will be required to successfully complete a drug screen and background check. Equivalency - Any equivalent combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job will be considered when filling the position.
