Guest Advisor The Salvation Army is hiring for a Guest Advisor position in the East Stroudsburg Corps. The position reports directly to the Director of Social Ministries and indirectly to Corps Officers and DHQ Social Services. The position is available immediately and is part-time, up to 29 hours per week, with a salary of $13.50 per hour, grade 70, non-exempt. Most importantly, it’s a job with a good purpose! Responsibilities The Guest Advisor will monitor the shelter and guests, ensuring safety and adherence to policies and regulations. Key responsibilities include: Controlling access and activity on shelter property, permitting only approved persons. Overseeing official shelter communications via phone and in-person. Keeping a written record of all persons in/out, and all communications. Overseeing intakes, including initial interviews, alcohol/drug screens, completing paperwork, reviewing rules and policies, and assigning sleeping areas. Assisting guests with bedding, personal care items, meals, and any specific requests or needs. Referring guests to Case Manager and assisting with other community resources as necessary to meet guest needs. Monitoring the entire shelter property to ensure guests are safe and adhering to policies, which may include basic cleaning and snow removal. Maintaining all required records and logs, such as incident reports, fire drill logs, and medication. Ensuring confidentiality of all information related to shelter concerns, employees, and guests. Communicating pertinent information to incoming RA and elevating concerns to the Director. Qualifications Minimum qualifications for the Guest Advisor position include: High School Diploma, or equivalent. Valid PA Driver's License with a good driving record. At least 21 years of age with at least 2 years of driving experience, including vans. Clearances and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment. Understanding and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
