Production Cook

Production Cook — 2nd Shift (11am–7pm)

Veselka Commissary is seeking an experienced production cook to join our team in Williamsburg for our 2nd shift, 11am–7pm.

DESCRIPTION: 

The production cook is responsible for large-scale, high-volume production of recipes and products for Veselka Enterprises, servicing our 3 locations as well as our national direct-to-consumer shipping operation. This role spans a wide range of cooking techniques and applications, all in a bulk-production setting, while staying true to the recipes and standards that have defined our menu for over 75 years. Production cooks report to the Production Manager, and Operations Manager. This role requires working cleanly and efficiently while maintaining in-house and NYCHD safety and sanitation guidelines, and being organized, team-oriented, and reliable. Responsibilities include completing daily tasks assigned by kitchen supervisors and following recipe and procedural instructions according to our brand standards.. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensures food quality and standards are compliant and maintained by the company standards of excellence;
• Maintains the sufficient pars of responsible dishes needed for inventory of all three locations and national shipping;
• Maintains safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas and food prep items; 
• Supports the kitchen supervisors by being compliant and flexible to the needs and demands of the business including but not limited to the execution of catering jobs and additional outside events;
• Ensures that all kitchen operational duties are fulfilled on a daily basis in a timely and efficient manner;
• Follows proper kitchen/facility opening and closing procedures 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift 50lbs and work on one’s feet for an extended period of time; 
• Experience in the hospitality industry with a background in food service;
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects at once;
• Strong communication skills working in a team environment;
• Accountability for order accuracy and timeliness;
• NYC DOH food handler’s permit card and/or ServSafe is a plus
