Digital Marketing Manager

The Digital Marketing Manager plays a critical cross-functional role in supporting current students and executing integrated digital marketing and communications initiatives that drive student recruitment, engagement, and enrollment outcomes at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM). We are seeking a candidate with strong experience in organic social media marketing, including social media strategy, content planning, community engagement, analytics, and integrated digital campaigns that support enrollment and brand awareness.

This position leads AUM's organic social media presence while managing timelines, coordinating content calendars, and ensuring alignment across social media, digital campaigns, and content strategy. Working closely with Enrollment Management, Creative Services, and Academic Affairs, the Digital Marketing Manager serves as a critical bridge between strategy and execution—ensuring social media and enrollment communications are timely, engaging, data-informed, and measurable.

Digital Marketing

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of integrated digital marketing campaigns across the student recruitment funnel—from awareness to enrollment.
• Manage timelines, workflows, and task assignments for multi-channel digital initiatives, including email, social media, web, paid media, and marketing automation.
• Serve as the digital marketing lead for key enrollment campaigns such as AUM Bound, yield communications, and accepted student outreach, ensuring campaigns are optimized for engagement, conversion, and performance.
• Leverage CRM platforms and marketing automation tools to deliver personalized, data-driven communications and nurture prospective students through the enrollment journey.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize campaign performance using analytics and reporting tools to continuously improve results and ROI.

Cross-Department Collaboration

• Work closely with the Director of Communications and Enrollment Services to develop content calendars and engagement journeys.
• Act as liaison between creative, digital, and enrollment teams to align messaging and campaign deliverables.
• Facilitate status meetings, stakeholder updates, and post-campaign reviews.

Social Media Marketing

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of AUM's organic social media strategy to increase brand awareness, student engagement, and enrollment across the student recruitment funnel—from awareness to enrollment.
• Develop and manage comprehensive social media content calendars across university social media channels, ensuring timely, engaging, and brand-consistent content.
• Create, publish, and optimize organic social media content, including photos, videos, student stories, reels, and other emerging social media formats.
• Serve as the social media lead for key enrollment campaigns such as AUM Bound, yield communications, accepted student outreach, and university events, ensuring content is optimized for engagement, reach, and audience growth.
• Monitor social media trends, platform best practices, and audience insights to identify opportunities for increased engagement and continuous improvement.
• Analyze social media performance using platform analytics and reporting tools, providing recommendations to improve content effectiveness, audience growth, and overall engagement.

Performance Tracking & Optimization

• Develop dashboards and reports that track campaign milestones, engagement metrics, and project ROI.
• Monitor key KPIs across channels (email open rates, click-throughs, conversions, form fills) to optimize future communications.
• Implement project retrospectives to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Event & Experience Coordination

• Support planning and promotion of key enrollment-related events (Admitted Student Day, Preview Days, campus visits).
• Partner with Student Affairs and Admissions to support communications that enhance prospective student experiences from inquiry to enrollment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, project management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience managing marketing/communications projects or campaigns.
• Proven ability to lead complex, deadline-driven projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience working with marketing automation, CRM tools (e.g., Element451, Slate, Salesforce), or content calendars.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Higher education or enrollment marketing experience.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Trello, Asana, Monday.com, or similar project management tools.
• Knowledge of SEO, UX, email marketing best practices, and student journey mapping.
