AV CAD Drafter: Precision Drawings & System Docs

We specialize in the deployment of cutting‑edge technology and highly integrated AV systems, and we are seeking a detail‑oriented AV CAD Drafter to support our engineering and design team. The ideal candidate will have experience creating AV system drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using AutoCAD while working closely with AV engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure accurate and efficient project execution. Responsibilities: AV Drafting & System Documentation Create and revise AV system drawings, schematics, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and floor plans using AutoCAD. Develop detailed installation drawings for audiovisual, low‑voltage, and integrated technology systems. Prepare and maintain accurate drawing packages throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. Assist engineering and project management teams with drawing updates and revisions based on project requirements and field changes. Organize and maintain CAD standards, templates, and project documentation. Coordination & Design Support Work closely with AV engineers and project managers to interpret project specifications and scope requirements. Coordinate drawing details with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal departments. Assist with reviewing construction drawings and identifying potential coordination issues. Support the design team with equipment layouts, conduit pathways, cable schedules, and infrastructure planning. Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and industry best practices. Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized project files, drawing revisions, and technical documentation. Prepare submittal packages and as‑built drawings for completed projects. Assist in updating bill of materials (BOM), equipment lists, and project documentation. Support project closeout documentation and turnover packages. Communicate drawing progress, revisions, and deadlines with internal teams. Support Engineering/Design department in entry‑level drafting and documentation tasks. Assist with project coordination and administrative support related to design documentation. Cooperate in the development of simple project layouts and technical presentations. Work with vendors and manufacturers to gather product specifications and technical information. Skills We Are Looking For: Proficient in AutoCAD and drafting standards. Understanding of audiovisual systems, low‑voltage systems, and construction documentation. Familiarity with AV technologies including displays, audio systems, video conferencing, and control systems. Knowledge of control systems such as Crestron, QSC, Extron, and AMX is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and field teams. Willingness to learn AV, IT, Security, and Networking systems. Certifications We Want to See: CTS or CTS‑D certifications are a plus but not required. AutoCAD certification or drafting‑related training is a plus. Any AV industry‑related certifications or manufacturer training are also a plus. Requirements: Working from office place located in Hicksville NY. Hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday‑Friday. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
