Registered Nurse (RN)

The position requires a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1 in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role involves working every other weekend and holidays, with no on-call requirements but opportunities for overtime available for those interested. While block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, every effort will be made to accommodate preferred scheduling when possible.

The acuity of patients varies widely, including a range of cardiac and respiratory conditions. The department fosters a supportive and collaborative culture, with a manager who is easily accessible and visible to night shift staff at least twice weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible parties.
• Utilize nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Contribute to a positive workplace environment by effectively managing conflicts using professional communication skills.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant setting
