Psych Registered Nurse West Unit

Overview Mission Health, a leading comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Psych Registered Nurse for the West Unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide direct, compassionate, and evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to adult patients experiencing acute and chronic behavioral health conditions. Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, you will complete thorough nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor patient responses, and ensure a safe, therapeutic setting for patients, families, and staff. You will coordinate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other care team members to promote stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care, while educating patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies. The Psych Registered Nurse West Unit role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to de-escalate crises using trauma-informed and patient-centered approaches. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to adults with acute and chronic behavioral health conditions. Complete thorough nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and monitor patient responses; adjust care as needed. Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
