GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Tower Educational Learning Center is looking for Pre-School Teachers who have a passion for supporting a whole child approach to learning. Potential teachers must be experienced in working with children and have a temperament for working with children.

DUTIES:

• Responsible for the care and supervision of preschool children, aged 2.5 years to 5 years old. Develop and implement classroom lesson/activity plans. Documents service provided, progress reports and attendance records. Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Manage the classroom and classroom duties (e.g., create developmentally appropriate lesson plans; utilize creative curriculum, ASQ-3; teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills, etc.). Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., progress reports, attendance records, etc.). Initiates and schedules meetings with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development; Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts; Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs; Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips; Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Comply with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Step Up To Quality rules and regulations. Comply with the Child and Adult Care Food Program rules and regulations. Comply with Tower Educational Learning Center Employee Handbook and Parent Handbook. Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary play environment: (i.e., clean and sanitize classroom, toys, and equipment, take children to the bathroom, assist children with toileting needs, prepare snacks, etc.). When needed, clean and sanitize toys and play equipment; Instruct children in health and personal habits, (e.g., eating, resting, and toilet habits). Organize and store toys and materials. Assist in serving meals and snacks to children; Supervise children's nap time; Plan, implement and accompany children on field trip activities. Responsible for the care and supervision of children if transporting. When needed, maintain adult/child ratios for multiple age-groups (Toddlers, Preschool, School-age).

 

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma with a CPL 3; Associate Degree, or Child Development Associate (CDA).
• Experience: basic knowledge of proper childcare methods (previous childcare experience preferred).
• Remain current with ODJFS childcare licensing and SUTQ on-going training requirements.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality

 

• Standard Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, (one-hour unpaid lunch)

We are open year-round, and our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
