Industrial Sewer
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Industrial Sewer to join our production team. In this role, you will operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture and assemble pillows, comforters, mattress pads, and other fabric-based products. The ideal candidate has experience working with industrial sewing equipment, can maintain consistent quality standards, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cleaning & Sanitization: Sweep, mop, and vacuum warehouse floors; clean work areas, break rooms, and restrooms. Sanitize high-touch surfaces and restrooms; empty trash and recycling bins. Wash windows, mirrors, and other frequently used surfaces.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, tightening handrails, or fixing small leaks. Report and document maintenance or safety issues to management.
- Equipment & Supplies: Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, sweepers, vacuums) safely. Restock cleaning supplies and maintain equipment in good condition.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow warehouse-specific safety protocols and handle cleaning chemicals according to Material Safety Data Sheets. Ensure the facility is secure after cleaning tasks.
- Additional Duties: Assist with general warehouse organization or inventory tasks as needed. Maintain cleaning logs and records.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to ~50 lbs, stand/walk/bend for long periods.
- Previous janitorial or sanitation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
