About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 39 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) Experience: Open to recent graduates and less than 1 year of experience in skilled nursing facility or long-term care preferred License: RN license in the state of Arizona Certifications: CPR/BLS certification, Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card Must-Have: - Knowledge of Gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practices - Ability to learn, implement, and monitor methods for continuous work/process improvement - Effective oral and written communication skills - Ability to build interpersonal relationships Description: Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within scope of license. Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding residents’ medical, social, functional, and other needs. Participate in receiving and giving shift reports. Communicate with residents, families, and staff as necessary to ensure appropriate care. Perform the initial admission nursing assessment on newly admitted residents. Assist with the development of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans. Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress. Lead and perform limited supervision of subordinate staff and assist as needed with direct resident care for the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs for regularly employed staff. Utilize concepts and tools for problem-solving and continuous work/process improvements. Other duties as assigned, related to the position. Demonstrate knowledge of the effects of the aging process. Develop and carry out patient care plans within a team nursing concept. Observe and assess the behavior and progress of patients. Apply and interpret laws and regulations governing nursing practices.
