Position Expectations

Hourly: Starts at $16.50 (experience depending)

Hours: 25- 35 hours a week

Scheduling: Part-time, closed Mondays, Open Tuesday - Sunday for dinner only (2pm -10pm)

Isla Caribbean Cuisine is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our small, dedicated kitchen team of 2-4 people. In this role, you will prepare and plate authentic Caribbean dishes, rotating through various stations such as prep and garnish, while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. This position offers opportunities for career growth to sous chef or higher within our kitchen.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and execute recipes consistently during service
Operate and maintain assigned stations including grill, sauté, prep, and garnish
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and expeditors
Assist with opening and closing duties
Restock supplies as needed
Manage time effectively to support kitchen workflow

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years line cooking experience

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in grill operation and sautéing techniques
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen
