Nurse PractitionerAt Clear Choice Dermatology, the Nurse Practitioner is a key member of our provider team, delivering high-quality, compassionate dermatological care to patients across our clinics. The Nurse Practitioner assesses, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of medical skin conditions, performs in-office dermatologic procedures, and educates patients on skin health and prevention. Working in collaboration with our dermatologists, Medical Director, and clinical support team, the Nurse Practitioner helps expand patient access while upholding CCD's standards for clinical quality, documentation, and patient experience.Core ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment & DiagnosisConduct comprehensive dermatological assessments, including full-body skin examinations, history, and review of systemsDiagnose and treat a variety of skin, hair, and nail conditions, including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and benign and premalignant lesionsIdentify suspicious lesions and perform skin cancer screenings; escalate complex or high-risk cases to a dermatologist or the Medical Director per practice protocolOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, including pathology, cultures, and laboratory workTreatment & ProceduresDevelop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with dermatologists and other healthcare professionalsPrescribe medications, including topical, oral, and (where appropriate) systemic or biologic therapies, within scope of license and practice guidelinesPerform dermatological procedures such as shave and punch biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, ED&C, incision and drainage, and intralesional injectionsRefer patients for Mohs surgery, pathology review, or specialty care when clinically indicatedPatient Education & Follow-UpEducate patients on skin health, diagnoses, treatment options, medication use, post-procedure care, and sun protection and preventive careEnsure biopsy and pathology results are reviewed, communicated to patients, and acted on within practice timelinesEnsure patients with melanoma or a history of melanoma are placed on the appropriate recall scheduleDocumentation & ComplianceDocument all patient encounters accurately and completely in the EHR (EMA / Modernizing Medicine), including diagnoses, procedures, and plan of careClose charts and select accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in a timely manner to support compliant billingSupport MIPS/quality reporting measures, including biopsy follow-up, melanoma recall, and referral loop closureFollow HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and CCD clinical policies and protocols at all timesCollaboration & Professional DevelopmentWork closely with dermatologists, Medical Assistants, and clinic leadership to support efficient patient flow and a positive team environmentProvide clinical guidance to Medical Assistants and support staff as neededStay current with advancements in dermatology and incorporate evidence-based best practices into patient careParticipate in provider meetings, chart reviews, and quality improvement activities as requestedWhy Join Clear Choice DermatologyJoin our team dedicated to advancing dermatological health. We offer opportunities for professional growth, ongoing education, and a collaborative work environment focused on excellence in patient care.RequirementsEducation & LicensureMaster of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited programActive, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (APRN / ARNP) in the state of practice, with prescriptive authorityNational board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., AANP or ANCC)Active DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)Current BLS certificationAbility to be credentialed with CCD's contracted insurance plansExperiencePrior experience in dermatology or a related specialty preferredNew graduates with a strong interest in dermatology may be consideredSkills & CompetenciesStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsProficiency with dermatologic procedures, or willingness to complete CCD procedure trainingKnowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems; EMA / Modernizing Medicine preferredExcellent communication and patient education abilitiesAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered carePhysical DemandsStanding, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods during the clinic dayFine motor skills and manual dexterity sufficient to perform dermatologic proceduresVisual acuity (correctable) sufficient for close examination of skin and use of a dermatoscopeOccasional lifting of up to 25 lbsWorking ConditionsWork is performed in an outpatient dermatology clinic settingPotential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious materials, and sharps; PPE and OSHA protocols are requiredMay be assigned to, or asked to cover, more than one CCD clinic location; occasional travel between clinics may be requiredWork StandardsArrive prepared to begin the scheduled clinic template on timeComplete and sign all documentation within practice-established timelinesMaintain active licensure, certifications, and DEA registration, and notify HR / Credentialing of any change in statusComplete all required CCD trainings (including HIPAA and OSHA) by assigned due datesRepresent Clear Choice Dermatology with professionalism, integrity, and a genuine commitment to patient satisfaction
