REPORTS TO Director of Pupil Services ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Models correct use of language, oral and written. Maintains accurate, complete, and appropriate records and files reports promptly. Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content. Integrates designated curriculum. Identifies speech and language disordered students through evaluation and analyzing communication skills of students found in the identification process. Participates in or conducts student staffing in order to relate pertinent data used in the determination of students’ needs. Appropriately schedules students and conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled. Provides consultative services to teachers, parents, and administrators, in order to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment. Utilizes appropriate diagnostic assessment procedures, following professional guidelines, to thoroughly and accurately diagnose communicative disorders using both formal and informal assessment measures. Develops goals and objectives, provides collaboration, consultation, and direct service to meet individual needs. Evaluates and reports student progress for continuation or termination of services. Knowledge of lockdown procedures, fire drills, and emergency backpacks to ensure a safe school environment.
