Sous Chef Opportunity

Great food requires a great leader, and we are looking for a culinary mastermind to help guide our kitchen to success. At Saint Francis, dining is the heart of our community, and our kitchen thrives on creativity, organization, and teamwork. Creative Dining Services is seeking a talented, organized, and inspiring Sous Chef to lead food preparation, mentor our kitchen staff, and ensure every plate we serve is exceptional. If you are a skilled cook with leadership instincts, a passion for culinary excellence, and the drive to run a smooth, efficient kitchen operation, this is your opportunity to step into the spotlight and grow your career.

Core Responsibilities

Direct food prep: Plan and time food production perfectly so every meal is ready exactly at service time.
Lead and train: Supervise, mentor, and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards and smooth operations.
Manage operations: Read function sheets, build prep sheets, design duty rosters, and handle kitchen opening or closing shifts.
Control production: Utilize batch cooking techniques to maximize freshness and eliminate food waste.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Culinary Arts Degree is highly preferred.
Experience: 13 years of professional cooking experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
Certifications: ServSafe Certification and First Aid training are required.
