Community Based Sports Program Instructor

Job Description

Interviews will be conducted while this job is posted. The position may close prior to the posted end date. Responsible for instructing, supervising, and testing participants in community based sports programs. Under the direction of the Sports Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and instruct class material appropriate to the course description. Provides a safe environment for all participants. Attends scheduled meetings as required. Responsible for preparation for program activities and preparation of lesson plans.

Qualifications and Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to understand basic sports teaching methods; adjust class direction depending on ability level; communicate effectively with all participants; establish and maintain effective working techniques. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Current CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Previous teaching / coaching experience in specific sports preferred. Special Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age.
