Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and systems for hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Perform calculations and simulations (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs for performance, stress, and thermal characteristics. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and control system specialists, via virtual communication tools. Research and select appropriate materials and components for fluid power systems. Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical solutions during prototyping and testing phases. Document design processes, test results, and technical specifications comprehensively. Contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies and product performance. Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in fluid power engineering. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a specific focus on fluid power systems (hydraulics or pneumatics). Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and material science. Experience with simulation tools for analysis is a strong asset. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities, essential for remote work. Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks effectively. Must be eligible to work remotely from the Welkom, Free State area.
