Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Summary The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized patient care using the nursing process and established nursing principles. RNs in this role work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes. They interact professionally with patients and families, maintain compassionate communication, and uphold standards set by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The role requires the ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions across all age groups in a fast‑paced, unpredictable environment. ED Registered Nurses must continuously prioritize patient needs and interventions due to fluctuating census, acuity, and patient surges. RNs are also expected to participate in committee activities, surveys, and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Requirements Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree) Minimum Work Experience No previous experience required (new grads welcome) Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Texas ACLS – required prior to completing unit orientation ENPC and/or PALS – required prior to completing unit orientation CPR/BLS – required NIHSS – required prior to completing unit orientation TNCC – required within 18 months of hire Required Skills & Abilities Self‑Initiative: Actively contributes to ED flow and throughput Sense of Urgency: Provides safe, fast, and effective care regardless of acuity or census Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to fluctuating patient volume, acuity, and rapidly changing situations Professionalism: Maintains professional appearance and behavior at all times; represents the hospital's "front door" Confidentiality: Handles all patient information with strict confidentiality Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Other IT Services and IT Consulting #J-18808-Ljbffr
