Crossroads Community Veterinary Clinic is a nonprofit veterinary organization dedicated to improving access to quality veterinary care through a Spectrum of Care approach. In partnership with Crossroads Animal Shelter and our high-volume spay/neuter program, we provide care for owned pets and animals transitioning to new homes.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and adaptable Veterinarian who embraces the Spectrum of Care philosophy and is committed to providing accessible, high-quality medicine.

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys variety and wants to practice in a mission-driven environment that combines community veterinary medicine, wellness and preventative care, shelter medicine, and moderate- to high-volume surgical services .

The ideal candidate is collaborative, community-minded, clinically thoughtful, and comfortable working in an evolving environment. You should be able to balance sound medical judgment with practical treatment options and communicate those options clearly and without judgment.

This position reports to the Director of Operations & Medical Services .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, accessible medical care to owned pets and shelter animals using a Spectrum of Care approach.
• Perform spay/neuter procedures and other soft-tissue surgeries in a moderate- to high-volume setting while maintaining patient safety, efficiency, and compassion.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that consider the patient's medical needs and the client's circumstances, resources, expectations, and goals.
• Present appropriate diagnostic and treatment options clearly and without judgment.
• Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients and their pets.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, shelter staff, management, and community partners to provide coordinated care.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and clinical support to veterinary technicians, assistants, and students as appropriate.
• Support shelter operations through medical oversight, case evaluation, population health management, and consultation.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture centered on teamwork, communication, respect, accountability, and adaptability.
• Participate in continuing education and ongoing professional development.
• Contribute ideas and expertise that support the continued growth and development of Crossroads Community Veterinary Clinic.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Minnesota veterinary license or eligibility for Minnesota licensure.
• Strong clinical and surgical skills with a commitment to continued learning and improvement.
• Genuine interest in accessible, community-based veterinary medicine.
• Ability to practice within a Spectrum of Care framework and communicate treatment options effectively and compassionately.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to balance patient needs with practical considerations.
• Shelter medicine and moderate- to high-volume surgery experience is preferred, but we are willing to work with the right candidate and support professional growth.

Pay: PT
$87,000–$98,000 Part-time annually, depending on experience and qualifications
