Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer – San Jose, CA.Fully on‑site, 5 days per week. Reports to Sr. Manager, Mechanical Design Engineering. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principles. Utilize project management skills to track projects through all phases of design to production. Support design decisions with analysis and calculations, as required. Develop DFMEA and PFMEA for products and solutions to minimize project risks. Participate in peer‑to‑peer design reviews and provide critical feedback. Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, and assemblies. Manage top‑level assemblies in a PDM system environment. Control drawing and model releases through the change control process. Communicate with suppliers on a technical basis to ensure a quality product. Coordinate with manufacturing operations to develop and implement DFM and cost‑reduction design actions. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed. Ensure resulting design drawings/documents meet all Building, Construction and Mechanical code requirements. Ensure the design conforms to specifications required for the implementation of Bloom Energy fuel cell systems. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering. 6–8 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD. Strong understanding of GD&T and drafting of mechanical components and sub‑assemblies. Ability to use engineering analysis tools (FEA, Thermo, CFD, etc.) for design validation. Experience in manufacturing, construction, and/or facility maintenance related to mechanical assemblies is desired. High level of accountability, proactive and persistent. Ability to work efficiently with multiple projects and priorities. Professional and collaborative, comfortable working closely with a team.
