We are seeking a First-Party Property Coverage Attorney to join our growing insurance coverage practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated property insurance matters, provide strategic coverage advice, and litigate high-stakes coverage disputes while collaborating with experienced coverage attorneys and industry professionals.

What You'll Do

• Analyze first-party property claims and evaluate coverage issues under commercial and residential property policies.
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, denial letters, and other coverage-related communications.
• Advise insurers, policyholders, claims professionals, and business stakeholders on coverage strategy, exposure, and risk management.
• Handle coverage litigation, including declaratory judgment actions and related disputes in state and federal courts.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, hearings, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Work closely with claims teams, adjusters, experts, and litigation counsel to develop effective legal strategies.
• Stay current on developments in insurance law and emerging first-party property coverage issues.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in good standing.
• 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage, insurance litigation, or related civil litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting legal briefs, motions, and client-facing written work product.
• Ability to manage multiple matters while providing exceptional client service.

Preferred Experience

• First-party property insurance coverage analysis.
• Coverage opinions and coverage counseling.
• Reservation of rights and denial letters.
• Declaratory judgment actions.
• Commercial property and homeowners' coverage disputes.
• Bad faith and extra-contractual exposure issues.
• Deposition and courtroom experience.
• Experience working with insurers, reinsurers, or large corporate policyholders.
