SUMMARY

Maintain package equipment and conveying equipment, including palletizers, FFS bag packaging equipment, stretch wrappers and stretch hooding equipment.
Maintain warehouse including dock doors, painting, welding, plumbing and small concrete jobs.
Rebuild any machinery that can be rebuilt for the packaging machine.
Provide own common hand tools needed for daily mechanic work.
Essential duties and responsibilities are described below. Other duties may be assigned .

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to supervision.
• Understand the operation of the FF&S packaging line.
• Work in conjunction with operations on daily operational mechanical related issues.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment as required by manufacturer.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.
• Perform general and routine maintenance inside and outside the building.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Fix potential safety hazards to avoid incidents.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.

OTHER DUTIES

Supports the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the company’s quality management system.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is the responsibility of all warehouse staff. This includes but is not limited to standard housekeeping, sweeping and trash removal.

• Experience with packaging equipment (FF&S lines) and air compressors preferred.
• A minimum of 5+ years mechanical maintenance experience is required.
• Ability to read and understand, analyze, and interpret documents and equipment repair manuals.
• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize assigned responsibilities, investigate and resolve problems and handle several projects at once.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting and maintenance skills is required.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally with other individuals and teams.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, bend, and stoop.  The ability to work at heights is required.

The employee is required to lift and/or move materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
