Wastewater Treatment Operator

Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment plant processes, pump stations, and collection systems Start up and shut down wastewater treatment equipment as required Monitor equipment, gauges, charts, and SCADA systems; record and maintain accurate operational logs Collect samples and perform laboratory analyses in accordance with established procedures Operate biosolids dewatering equipment, including centrifuges and belt filter presses Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems Calibrate and repair monitoring and control equipment such as flow meters and recorders Identify, report, and respond to safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations Maintain facility drawings and schematics Perform general facility, grounds, and custodial maintenance Assist with training lesser‑skilled operators Participate in committees and perform other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Two (2) years of experience in wastewater treatment plant or collection system operations (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) NH Grade II Wastewater Treatment Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and working in confined spaces Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating on‑call shifts Certifications & Qualifications NH Grade II Wastewater Treatment Certification #J-18808-Ljbffr
