Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Overflow night shift position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Job Details

• Telemetry unit in a 294-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital,
• 24-bed unit serving a generalized cardiac patient population ranging from young adults to elderly adults,
• Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, A-fib, CHF, pre- and post-care for cardiac caths (groin and radial), and VATS,
• Patient ratio of 4:1,
• Equipment used includes LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo monitors,
• Cerner EMR used; experience preferred,
• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Every other weekend required,
• May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical,
• No call requirements,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state currently in hand,
• Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required,
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience,
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required,
• Proficiency with LifePak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment required,
• Cerner EMR experience preferred,
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration,
• Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate,
• Must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months,
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere,
