All candidates are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent. A thorough background investigation is required for all candidates prior to consideration for hire. All candidates must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to appointment and be eligible to carry a firearm in the State of Illinois. Each candidate must be 21 to 40 years of age by the beginning of Basic Law Enforcement Training.Special RequirementsEmployees of the City must establish their principal residence within forty-five (45) miles of the City of Danville corporate limits within six (6) months following successful completion of their probationary period.Miscellaneous InformationEmployees of the City of Danville are expected to be honest, courteous, and helpful to the public and handle matters in confidence.
