Polish Technician

SUMMARY:Assists in the finishing of parts in after they have been painted.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemask finished parts and make an inspection of the part to ensure no damage is done.Perform a finish of the part(s) after painting is completed using the specified products outlined in the work instruction. Products may include wax, compound, or polish.Finish surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, compound, wax or other materials.Maintain clean and safe work environmentMaintains cleanliness of spray boothPositions articles in jigs or erects ladders or scaffoldingPerform other tasks as assigned or approved by the Paint ManagerBackground in paint and body repair with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience. A High School or GED equivalent required. A certificate from an accredited technical or an industrial trade school is preferred. Needs to be a self-starter with proficiency in budgeting time. Incumbent must possess basic hand tools for the position and upgrade such tools as required to complete the tasks assigned.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
