TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST (EW PLANNER & ANALYST).

Responsibilities Serve as an Electronic Warfare (EW) Planner and Analyst within the Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Cell (JEMSOC). Coordinate the synchronized integration and employment of Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Warfare Support (ES), and Electronic Protection (EP) into current USSOUTHCOM operations in the area of responsibility. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements to meet combatant command theater needs. Monitor current EW assignment(s) and utilization. Evaluate the impact of changes in regulatory and legislative requirements regarding long‑range Electronic Warfare program goals. Define dynamic and enduring requirements for EW training and materiel in accordance with Requests For Forces (RFF) and long‑range strategic planning. Respond to Requests For Information (RFI) within the scope of EW capabilities and proper asset allocation. Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret security clearance based on a single‑scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI). Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. This is an Emergency Essential (E‑E) position; the incumbent or alternate must be able to be deployed overseas during a crisis. May be required to retain an elevated status outside of military recall. Vaccinations and annual boosters may be required. Temporary duty travel (TDY) is required up to 25% of the time. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. May occasionally be required to work outside normal duty hours. Requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification and completion of related training. Must meet continuous learning requirements as defined by the National Defense Authorization Act. Must comply with all Department of Defense and Army requirements of the SCW certification program. Exhibits high judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and foresight regarding changing technology. May be required to attend Joint Forces Staff College or similar training. May attend continuous training from DISA Joint Spectrum Center. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS‑12 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience, but for this position you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone—no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS‑12).
