JOB SUMMARY:

The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess evaluate identify and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.

The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Manager/Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education:

a.) RN graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.

1. Licensure/Certification:
   1. Must have valid current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
   2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

(CPR)Required.

1. ACLS Certification within one year of employment or if a current employee

by December 31.

1. Work Experience:

a.) Successful completion of hospital orientation.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

1. Provide guidance and provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPNs and CNAs.

1. Documentation of care in the EMR that is accurate and detailed of the patients care and conditions. This includes making sure care plan is appropriate.

1. Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate

1. Assist with procedures by physicians as needed. Preform nursing skills (IV starting NG placements dressing changes wound care catheter placement ect) and provide health care for hospitalized patient.

1. Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects.

1. Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance.

1. Fill out incident reports as needed for actual events and near misses.

1. Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Direct patient contact possible exposure to infections communicable diseases and bloodborne pathogens.
2. Occasionally exposed to radiation and electromechanical hazards.
3. Works indoors in well-lighted and ventilated environment.
4. Handles emergency or crisis situations.
5. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
6. Subjected to frequent interruptions.
